Project Description:
As an Adopt an Aisle Volunteer, you will be responsible for maintaining shelving accuracy and neatness in an assigned aisle of books
Responsibilities:
- Check books for correct shelf placement according to the Dewey Decimal System
- Cull any books that are shelved incorrectly
- Keep shelves clean by removing and discarding any trash
Qualifications:
- Basic understanding of the Dewey Decimal System and excellent alpha-numeric skills
- Ability to understand and follow directions
- Accuracy, patience, and skill at meticulous work
- Good vision
- Ability to get along well with others and communicate pleasantly and effectively with customers and library staff
- Neat appearance
Training:
Volunteers will be trained by library staff
