Little Free Libraries (LFL) are all over Charlotte - but many are not stocked well enough. People tend to take more than they give - especially children. That is totally fine by us since The Library is in the literacy business. This is where you may be able to help us out!
The Library is looking for independent, reliable volunteers who take the initiative to do the right thing. Stocking the LFL is not hard but it is not easy. It means making it a part of your monthly routine. Taking a before and after picture to showcase your work. Taking pride in the materials you are helping to provide to the community.
Materials are provided after a brief background check and training session. After that you are off and running, placing materials in the LFL in your surrounding area. You can use the app to find the LFL or you can discover them out in the wild. Not every LFLF is on the app.
LFL volunteers are expected to straighten out the existing materials, remove damaged materials, and put in newer materials. Before and after phots are required. A little story if you encoutner anyone or have a unusual experience.
This is a fun opportunity to do with a family member or friend!
