This position is located at the Library Administration Center (LAC) at 510 Stitt Road Charlotte, NC 28213
After completing a background check and attending training, donation processor team members will be partnered with seasoned volunteers to learn the vaious stages of how a donation becomes a vital part of the Library and the community.
Donation processor team members sort through donations based on established standards. Volunteers who enjoy surprises may like this gig. You would be opening bags, boxes, and bins - sometimes even laundry baskets - to discover gently used books. Following the established guidelines, the volunteer would sort the donation onto various carts, remove any stickers, and clean up the dust jackets. Materials being added to the collection would head to technical services, selected items would go to Outreach or other areas within the library system. Volunteers would box up materials for partners within the county as well as for Little Free Library volunteers to pick up. Volunteers will price and bin materials for the branch and community book sales.
